This year, Werkplaats Typografie takes a slightly longer route to the LA Art Book Fair…

Travelling from Houston to Los Angeles we are stopping at bookshops and various venues, art spaces and scenic spots. Using the Perambulating Bookshop as a place to ask if books and their distribution can be seen as active forms, objects that aren’t just places of documentation and accumulation but starting points. Swapping and selling, exploiting our published material to discover places. Excuses to meet people and find things along our route. What does it mean to move outside of self-defined circles of distribution and consumption?

When we arrive at the LA Art Book Fair, the WT Perambulating Bookshop will carry on exploring these questions, re-configuring them throughout the fair. Extending into gaps, halfway spots and in-between spaces. Seeing the book as an excuse to be somewhere else.
